Excel tricks: How to convert a column to a row

Suppose you have a column of data and want to arrange it in a row rather than having it in a column, you can do so using the ‘paste special’ feature in Microsoft Excel.

  1. Copy the cells of the column you want to convert to a row.
  2. Right-click the first cell of the row you want to move the data to.
  3. Click ‘Paste special’ from the context menu
  4. Select ‘Transpose’ (at the lower right of the dialog box) and then ‘OK’

You’re done.
